Who is Perry Doodles?
If you’ve never checked out Perry Doodles on instagram, then what the absolute heck have you been doing with your life?! Perry has actually been a good friend of mine for nearly 20 years (god I’m old) and in all the time we’ve been friends he’s always said to me “You’re the creative one, not me” Turns out the dude was straight up lying! So one day, he tells me that he doodles whilst on the phone at work during his 9 to 5 and that his wife, Helen, says his doodles are cool and he should put them up on instagram. Well, Helen was right! The doodles are cool and he has now started posting them up for the world to see and get juicy over. Too much? If you’re looking for some super nice black and white quirky pieces featuring a variety of abstract patterns, objects and characters then look no further.
So after creating a collection of doodles over the past year or so, he’s started branching out, trying new techniques and doodling on other things than just paper, he’s even doodled up a few bits like his longboard and some converse shoes.
As soon as I saw the doodles I knew I wanted to do a collab T-shirt with him. So I gave him a template of the Sandbox X logo and asked him to fill it in. Pretty cool, huh? The dude even gave me the original artwork in a frame for my birthday, which will be going up in the studio once its finished (See Building the Studio post). We’ve also discussed about working on a few motocross based projects in the near future so stay tuned.
